New Kitten Exam
What you need to know about caring for a new kitten
Kittens are susceptible to catching various diseases and parasites while their immune system is still developing. They require vaccinations once a month from 8 weeks of age until 4 months of age, to build up a strong immune system.
Keep your kitten indoors in a safe, controlled environment to minimize exposure to these diseases and parasites. Kittens (stray kittens especially) are very susceptible to upper respiratory diseases. Watch for discharge, crusty eyes, or a stuffy nose. Have your kitten seen by a veterinarian right away if you see signs of lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea or decreased appetite.
